Reconfigure the ISA App on Windows
The ISA App must always be associated with a User Profile in order to connect successfully. This Article provides guidance on how to configure a new User Profile on a device where the ISA App is already configured for another user, without needing to reinstall the ISA App. Such a need would typically arise in cases where company-owned devices are re-assigned.
The ISA App for Windows is unique to every organization, and the assumption of this guide is that the new User Profile is provisioned in the same ISA Account as the earlier user.
In case the new user wishes to access applications of another organization (different ISA Account), the existing ISA App would need to be uninstalled first.
Step 1: Exit the ISA App
In case the ISA App is still running, 'Disconnect' and 'Exit' from the Notifications Area of the Taskbar
Locate the InstaSafe Folder.
Windows 64 Bit path: C:\Program Files (x86)\InstaSafe\
Windows 32 Bit path: C:\ProgramFiles\InstaSafe\
Navigate to the ‘bin’ folder. Right click the file ‘clientconfig.exe’, and select 'Run as Administrator'
Enter your credentials in the window that pops-up to reconfigure the ISA App a new User Profile.
In case Two Factor Authentication has been configured, an OTP will be sent to your registered email ID and mobile number which would need to be entered in order to proceed.
Depending on the type of deployment setup opted for by the organization, these credentials may either be the Domain Credentials (synced with the corporate IAM) or created locally in the ISA Management Console by the Admins. In some cases, the Admins might even allow users to set their own ISA passwords. In this case, users would receive an email through which they could set their own passwords, in addition to the regular 'welcome email'.
It is expected that the Admins convey this information to all users of the organization that would be making use of the ISA solution.
Users that are locally provisioned can change their passwords within the ISA portal once logged in (https://<<company>>.instasafe.com).
Once the credentials have been correctly entered, this confirmation message will show up. Click on 'OK' to proceed.
Step 3: Connect the ISA App
A shortcut named 'InstaSafe Agent' should be created on the desktop.
Double click and run, to launch the UI of the ISA App.
Depending on the 'Authentication Type' selected by the Admins, users might be prompted to enter their credentials in order to connect the ISA App.
In case Two Factor Authentication has been configured, an OTP will be sent to your registered email ID and mobile number which would need to be entered in order to proceed.
This would need to be repeated each time you wish to connect.
The ISA App would now be launched and an icon bearing the InstaSafe Logo should show up in the notification tray of the task-bar at the bottom right corner of the desktop.
Double click the icon to bring up the real time connection status.
The real time connection status display several logs that are useful for troubleshooting any issues that might crop up.
Once connected, a notification banner should get displayed at the bottom right corner of the desktop. It would also mention the ISA IP assigned.
With the ISA App connected, users would be able to access their organization's internal applications as per the Access Policies defined.
It is expected that the Admins of the organization provide all users a list of their individual network entitlements, the respective FQDNs/IP Addresses of the application servers and their login details.
In case you are unable to reconfigure the ISA App by following these steps, please contact your organization's IT Team.
