Introduction to Instasafe Zero Trust solution

Welcome to Instasafe Zero Trust solution

For using Instasafe Zero Trust solution, 

Request to instasafe team to create a tenant account. Give details like email ID, company name.

Once Tenant account is created you will receive a welcome email as below

Click the given link in the email or go to dev.instasafe.io 


It will be asked to enter the slug name. (Slug name is the identical name for your company that you have provided.)


Enter the slug name and click on continue.


In the next window type the email ID that you provided and click on the continue button then you will get a message that “Please check your email to set password”. Go to the email and set the password.


You will receive an email as shown below click on “set a new password”, it will redirect to a new page.


In the next window, you can set a password for your account and click on continue.

Now you can log in to InstaSafe Zero Trust tenant account.


In the admin portal, you can create Local users, applications, gateway, access policy, etc. All the activity in a company is available on this portal. The local user can only access the applications using an agent approved by an admin.


Logging into Instasafe Zero Trust tenant account with valid credentials


1. Go to dev.instasafe.io, it will ask for the slug. Enter the slug and click on continue.

If it asks for email id, means you entered slug already and it has stored it in the local storage.


2. Enter email-id and click on continue.


3. Enter the password that you created earlier and click on continue.

It will redirect to the dashboard.


Add Local User




Add user to Instasafe Zero Trust solution

The first step to create your secure environment is adding users to the Instasafe Zero Trust solution.


Step 1:

To start adding your users, click on ‘users’ under ‘Identity Management




Step 2:

Click on the add icon right side of the page.


Step 3:

Configure the add user window then click on the add user button.


Name: Enter the name of the user. The name should be more than three characters and less than 30 characters and it cannot contain any special characters.

Email: Enter the email id of the user. This email id is used for username and reset password. It should be unique for every user.

Phone number: Phone number is used to set OTP authentication








Creating your network

Add Application Server


Step 1:

To start adding Applications, click on ‘Applications’ under ‘Perimeter Management’.


Step 2:

Click on the add icon right side of the page.



Step 3:

Configure the add application window then click on the add application button.

Name: Type the name of the application. The name should be more than three characters and less than 30 characters and it cannot contain any special characters.

Type: Type is the format of the application, you can select one of the following options like web, Android mobile app, Ios mobile app, Windows desktop app, Linux desktop app, O365 application. (Currently, only Web app is supported)

Address: Enter the path of the application. For example, if its a web application type the URL or if its an android application type the package name.

Create a private gateway


1. Create a Linux VM instance.

Supported flavours (ubuntu 18, ubuntu 16, ubuntu 14, RHEL 8, RHEL 7, Debian 9, centos 8, centos 7)

2. In terminal type these lines


curl -o gateway-installer-latest.app https://storage.googleapis.com/instasafesdp-gateway/gateway-installer-latest.app

sudo chmod +x gateway-installer-latest.app

sudo ./gateway-installer-latest.app


3. It will be seen like this


Type “1”  to install the gateway

4. It will give an access code for launching the gateway.

Adding gateways


1. Click on gateway under Perimeter Management.

Then click on the add button right side of the page.


2. Select authorized private gateway and click on next.

 


3. Type your access code and click on next.



4.Request access to the gateway.



5. If it’s a correct access code it will show in a list.


Adding Application to gateways

  1. Select one gateway to add an application.

  1. Now you can see application added to the gateway.

Configure access control

1. Navigate to the Access Controls option and click on the “add button” option.

2. Configure the Policy name and Policy description and click on ‘next’ button.

3. Under “Select Users”, add ‘Users’ and ‘User groups’ and click on ‘next’ button. (Minimum one selection required)

4. Under “Select Applications”, add ‘Applications’ and ‘Application Groups’ and click on ‘next’ button. (Minimum one selection required)

5. Under “Manage Rules” add ‘rules’ and click on ‘next’ button.

6. Under “Advance Authentication” select authentication types and click on the ‘next’ button.

7. Under “Submit Policy” click on ‘submit’ button.

Now you can see access control added successfully

Application access

Access the application using the Instasafe CLIENT

1.  Download the agent from this link

2.Launch  Instasafe Zero Trust CLIENT



3.Type slug name and click on continue




4.Enter the user name(email id) and click on continue


5.Enter the password and click on continue



6. In this window, you can see the application assigned to this particular user.


7.when you click on the application it will open through instasafe SDP solution
