Windows ISA App Installation Error "An error occurred installing the InstaSafe device driver"

This Article highlights the steps to be taken in case users are unable to successfully install the ISA App on Microsoft Windows devices and the error message noticed is "An error occurred installing the InstaSafe device driver"

Issue

While installing the ISA App on Microsoft Windows devices, the installation halts abruptly with the error message "An error occurred installing the InstaSafe device driver"

This error indicates that the Device Driver (Virtual Adapter) was unable to install successfully.

Solution

1. Restart the System and re-try the ISA App Installation
2. In case an End-point Protection Software is installed on the system, ensure that there's no block to the Virtual Adapter installation
3. Navigate to C:\Windows\INF\setupapi.dev.log and check if the following error is noticed:
      Device install failed for device.
Error 0xe0000246: One of the installers for this device cannot perform the installation at this time.
      Installing NULL driver.

If the above error is noticed, open Registry Editor, navigate to Computer\HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SYSTEM\CurrentControlSet\Services\DeviceInstall\Parameters
The Registry Value DeviceInstallDisabled will be set to 1.
Change this value to 0, and save. Reboot the System and then re-try the installation
