ISA App Connection Error "Certificate Verify Failed"

This Article highlights the steps to be taken in case users are unable to connect their ISA Apps and the Error "Certificate Verify Failed" is observed in the ISA Log File.

Issue

The ISA App fails to connect and might continuously prompt for credentials to be entered. On checking the ISA App Log File the following error messages are observed:

<timestamp> VERIFY ERROR: depth=1, error=certificate signature failure: /C=IN/ST=KA/L=Bangalore/O=InstaSafe_Technologies_Pvt._LTd./CN=InstaSafe_Technologies_Pvt._LTd._CA/name=InstaSafe_CA/emailAddress=ops@instasafe.com
<timestamp> TLS_ERROR: BIO read tls_read_plaintext error: error:14090086:SSL routines:SSL3_GET_SERVER_CERTIFICATE:certificate verify failed
<timestamp> TLS Error: TLS object -> incoming plaintext read error
<timestamp> TLS Error: TLS handshake failed
<timestamp> SIGUSR1[soft,tls-error] received, process restarting
The above error messages indicate that the date and time on the end-user device is incorrect, due to which the certificate verification fails.

Solution

Ensure that the system date and time is correct
