Windows ISA App Connection Error "There is a conflict in config files"

This Article highlights the steps to be taken in case the ISA App on Windows is unable to connect and the error message is "There is a conflict in config files".

Issue

The ISA App on Windows fails to connect as expected and an error message is received: "There is a conflict in config files"

This issue is typically caused when the user attempts to connect the ISA App from a device with more than one ISA Configuration File. Multiple Configuration Files might get created when an improper reinstall of the ISA App is carried out, or a different version of the ISA App is installed when the earlier version was not correctly uninstalled. The Configuration Files end up conflicting with each other.

Solution

Step 1: Navigate to the directory that contains the ISA Configuration File(s). The path is mentioned below:

Windows 64-bit
C:\Program Files (x86)\InstaSafe\config\

Windows 32-bit
C:\Program Files\InstaSafe\config\
Step 2: Delete the ISA Configuration Files. This step will require elevated Admin privileges.
Step 3: Reconfigure the ISA App with the appropriate User Profile by following the instructions in this KB Article.
Step 4: Once the profile is configured, proceed to connect the ISA App in the usual manner.

In case the issue persists after following the above mentioned steps, please contact your organization's IT Team.
